Thank you for your candor. A few in our number have had a rash of recent bad experiences with government overreach -- specifically targeted towards their...abilities. If I'm to try their trust by keeping your erasure a secret, then when it inevitably becomes less of a secret I need to reassure them that I had their best interests at heart the entire time.

I can attest to having myself regained a significant number of memories from home -- living my life, back in the year I'm from, and remembering nothing about this fleet.

Frankly, it's too complicated to explain the smaller details but there have been other people from my 'world' who have come and gone. What they lack in recollection or that they never knew I was missing...? Yes, it seems that nonsense is true enough.
