Then, once again, excellent. [ she reaches for her communications device and carries it with her as she stands up. ] We can discuss payment upon your arrival. I have credits cashed out as physical chips. Or perhaps we can have a look at the ship's stocks and see if there's anything you'd like to trade.
[ she will brook no argument on this front. peggy won't let him leave empty-handed. ]
Nah, don't worry about it. I mean, it was good practice for me, I don't do this line of work often enough. We have a bio-engineer for that and she probably would have sassed me and ordered me around through the whole thing so! now I can say I can still manage my own.
[ whenever he sees caitlin next. ]
and you're a witness. so - if a lady named Caitlin Snow comes here, all tall and bossy in high heels, you tell her I did it all on my own.
She's the smartest person I know. She's there to make sure the Flash doesn't overdo it and kill himself and that I eat something that's not made out of soda and sugar.
[ he smiles ]
I'll be right there! like, probably fifteen minutes!
[ and then just as abruptly as the feed starts it ends ]
[ well! after hearing something like that, it seems as though she probably shouldn't be paying him in candy. but she doesn't have the opportunity to say so, since she presumes he's already on his way.
to accommodate him, she waits in the shuttle bay. ]
[ cisco, being cisco, leaves a note to hank reading BRB BEING SOCIAL before hurrying away. he all but hops off the shuttle when it lands and then, it's as if the conversation hasn't stopped. ]
I mean, we never actually had to make him anything of this sort but I think she would have approved of how I made them. I mean, being Caitlin, she'd only offer one way to improve them which is her way of being all, 'A++ Cisco'.
You're on the Blameless, yes? It's a new ship. Stands to reason it wouldn't be as well-appointed as the Starstruck -- it hasn't been around long enough to reap the benefits of the upgrade system. Here, we've nearly hit our limits in all quarters.
[ she nods towards the doorway, inviting him deeper onto the ship. ] I am grateful you took the project on board, Cisco. Even if it's a bit outside of your wheelhouse.
Hey, you never learn anything if you can't think outside the box.
[ he looks around him, taking it all in. He seems like a tourist of a sort, like someone still getting used to being in space, like a kid in a candy store. but the spaceships! ]
Ok, this ship is so legit.
[ it's like the big sister of the Blameless. ]
I might have gone a tiny bit overboard with that project.
[ he reaches into his bag, pulls out four plastic tubes and hands them over. ]
There are two of each kind, they're both the same color, I mean I have no idea what sort of colors girls - women, wear but it's very important that you'll know which to use when. I labeled them.
[ true enough, he put stickers on them reading GOODNIGHT KISS and SLEEPING BEAUTY ]
if you ever tell someone I've moved from naming superheroes to naming lipsticks, I will deny it and I'll say I've never met you before.
[ the packaging leaves a lot to be desired, but she supposes he can't exactly help it. not least of all, the ships only allow them so much leeway in this corner of the design plan. peggy decides to say nothing on this subject. after all, he's the one doing her a massive favour. ]
Your secret's safe with me, [ she taps the side of her nose before collecting both tubes from cisco. ] Although, as names go, they're not half bad. Better than some of the duds Revlon's come up with in the past.
[ she separates the two tubes and looks at them in turn. ] What's the difference between the two?
We are not comparing me to make-up companies, nope, nope, not doing it.
[ barry would mock him forever and if Harry were to find out - he's doomed. ]
Alright so, I was thinking, while making the first one, the Goodnight Kiss one - that it might not be good enough. I mean, sure, this will make any grown man lose contagiousness for about half an hour or so but everything I've been dealing with lately has been crazy metahumans and superhuman villains and let's say you'd have to handle one of those -
[ he can hope and wish they wouldn't have but that's not nearly good enough. ]
The thing with metas is that their genetic make up is different. I mean, the Flash has to eat tons of calories a day because of his metabolism because of the speed, some of them are like that and that stuff wouldn't tickle them, their system would process it in seconds. so that in mind, I made the Sleeping Beauty one.
[ he stops and points at it ]
I'm going to say it at least three times, do not use it on a normal person. It has enough in it to knock one out for three days, at least.
[ once again, he says a lot of words. and peggy absorbs as much of them as she can, tripping from sentence to sentence -- all the while examining the two lipsticks in her hand. half-an-hour is a perfect time-frame but of course cisco has a point. there are people in this fleet that might need more than the average dosage. she almost feels a phantom twinge in her ribs from going up against the winter soldier, and how easily he'd shrugged off her bullets. ]
So. Sleeping Beauty would fare better against, say, enhanced individuals. Super-soldiers. That sort. [ she stops, too, and holds the more potent brand up to the light. ] How did you test it?
Yeah, you could say so. Mutants, speedsters, anyone whose genetic make up is beyond the human level.
[ a bit of a line face here ]
well, I may know a lot of mutants and friendly metas but it's not like I could really walk up to them all, kiss me, you fool. I tested them against the Flash's data, basically, having studied him, I calculated the point in which his metabolism won't be fast enough to burn through that stuff, now mind you, he moves fast enough to rip through time and space so - that stuff is strong.
-- So I'd better be damned careful in applying it. [ a slightly awkward chuckle. peggy's often careful, especially with gadgetry, but she doesn't relish the idea of accidentally slipping into a three-day sleep. the atroma cause that sort of disruption often enough; she doesn't need to do it to herself. ]
And as sound as your data, well, sounds -- I hope you won't be too offended if I test it for myself.
And again, careful not to confuse it with the other one. I'd make the tubes in different colors if I could.
[ and hold on, WHAT. ]
what do you mean test it out - hold on - but you're not superhuman. How can you - I mean you can't really put something like this in the wanted ads. Wanted: mutants for kissing purpose, may involve an hour-long coma?
In theory, I doubt I actually need to kiss whoever it is -- merely ask them to really smudge the stuff around their own lips, perhaps take a taste. [ she sounds thoughtful, then: ] But that's a lot less entertaining, isn't it?

peggy's sitting on the bridge of the starstruck when she answers the call. ] Mister Ramon. [ dryish. ] How can I help you?

I got your stuff.
